About My Journey

I am a wife and stay-at-home mom who home schools her 11 year old daughter.  We live in Arizona now, but I grew up in Montana and then attended college in San Diego.  Southern Cali is where I met two of the great loves of my life – my husband and the beach!  When my daughter was born, I was pleased to find that she quickly grew into a mermaid just like her momma.

My unrequited love for the beach has never waned and I find myself deeply drawn to all things ocean.  It’s awe inspiring to witness the rich colors and nuanced shades of the nautical world.  I am mesmerized by the rhythmic patterns of the waves and currents, and am solaced by the beauty I find there.  My projects are influenced by the colors of the sea and the creatures that live within it’s embrace.  My mission has been to recreate that sense of unfathomable peace and pristine beauty within my home, to nourish and satisfy that hunger and stirring for the deep.  This is my happy place, my zen state, the place I go to in my mind when the walls are closing in or I’m sitting in the dentist’s chair…

I love to be creative and find emptiness if I’ve gone too long without fashioning something, anything…  This is where I believe my love for cooking came into my life, for it is a great outlet to channeling the inner artist.  I heard in a movie once that “food is the only art form that truly nourishes” or something like that, and I find this to be true.  I also think that it is one of the most simple, yet profound ways to show those around you how much you love them, care about them, and think about them throughout your days.

I adore cooking almost as much as I love to eat, and relish producing new recipes or twisting old ones.  I love to craft things – all kinds of things – and especially home décor.  I love to sew and my most recent passion is designing and fashioning costumes for my daughter’s dramatic undertakings.  I find great satisfaction in upcycling things and rebirthing them into a new life.  I have many interests and flit from project to project to stay excited about the creating process.  I love to write but also love to procrastinate, so there you go…

I am pleased that you’ve joined me thus far, and would like to invite you to take a deep breath, relax, and stroll with me awhile – let’s share the path together.  After all, don’t we tend to hurry sometimes, rush off to always be somewhere else?  I submit that perhaps it’s not just the destination that’s the main event, but it’s the JOURNEY that’s truly DELICIOUS!!
